Product details

AXP Adventure Skid Plates use 8mm thick HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene). This material has excellent impact resistance and weighs 30 to 40% less than aluminium alternatives. Where an alloy plate can bend, HDPE soaks up impacts without deforming, and it also cuts down noise and vibration for a quieter, more comfortable ride.

The plates protect vital parts such as the engine, exhaust and water pump, giving solid coverage without affecting cooling. Many models have separate linkage guards to improve compatibility with aftermarket centre stands, and some come with extra parts such as mud guards and anti-friction foam, adding protection and making maintenance simpler.

Please note: Adventure Skid Plates often use a multi-point mounting system rather than bolting directly to the engine, so no stress is placed on the block. How well they work alongside OEM or aftermarket centre stands and crash bars varies from model to model, and some adjustment may be needed.
