Product details

The VForce4R (VF4R) reed valve is made for KTM 85cc and 105cc models and for Husqvarna 85cc models. It carries over every advantage of the distinctive VForce reed valve design and adds rubber overmoulded tips on the reed cage plus extended reed stops, both of which help the reed petals last longer.

How the VForce design works

Compared with a conventional reed valve, the VForce system has twice the reed-tip surface area. That brings two main benefits:

• Less reed travel: to deliver the same airflow, the petals only need to move half as far as they would in a conventional valve.
• Better performance: because they move less, the petals are more likely to open fully and to seal properly when shut. Running at 8,000 RPM, an engine works the reeds open and shut 133 times each second, so cutting the travel reduces wear and makes the reeds last longer.

Standard VForce features

• Extra bottom-end, a stronger mid-range and top-end power that reaches further.

VF4 improvements

• A completely new resin system, carbon fibre and lay-up for the reed petals.
• Petals that are pre-curved so the tips seal better.
• A wider reed cage for maximum airflow.
• Total reed tip surface area up by 10.5%, for more airflow.
• Cage tips shaped like an airfoil, which speed up the air coming from the outer ports.
• Long reed stops that progressively slow the petal tips, improving durability.
• A central wing with 15.6% less frontal area and a more aerodynamic shape.

New for the VF4R

• The cage's reed tip surface is overmoulded in rubber to extend petal life.
• Longer reed petal stops for greater durability.
• Pre-curved petals so the tips seal better.
